Katalyst joined the kickoff meeting for a new report by our colleagues at Fair Trade Advocacy Office, and Change Alliance, reporting on multistakeholder consultations across India’s textile supply chains. We were also happy to hear that our research was a useful resource for the paper’s authors.
This report presents the key takeaways and provides an overview of the Business & Human Rights (BHR) and Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) in the country, highlighting practical steps to implementation, ensuring living wages and incomes, and protecting workers, farmers, and communities.
The paper is a sobering reminder that despite decades of efforts, living wages remain out of reach for many in the global garment industry.
